Craig ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Hi Dad
Hi Dad, it’s your son.
This is a long shot because your guestbook is full of spambot crap, and we haven’t spoken in 11 years, and there’s an outside chance you’ve forgotten I exist, and I’m usually pretty good at putting words down but for the first time in a long while I don’t actually know what to say.
So I was watching a downloaded copy of Stargazing (the BBC documentary from early this year with Dara O Briain and Prof. Brian Cox). It made me remember that the only reason I’m so interested in Space (and I am, massively) was because of you. You bought me the books, told me the facts, gave me the telescope (that I stupidly squandered), and sparked an interest that I still enjoy 25 years later. I’m fascinated. I seriously feast on knowledge.
It reminded me that I want to invest in this idea. I want to learn, be tutored, know more. I’ve seen every bloody documentary going. I want something a little more than television guidance. I want the guiding hand of somebody that knows more.
It got me a little misty-eyed, so I put your name in Google, just out of curiosity. Low and behold you’ve got a chuffing website dedicated to star gazing. Seemed like a pretty good sign to me, and I’m usually fairly cynical of signs.
Put it this way: 11 years is too sodding long. Screw the past – it’s happened and it can’t change. Space is still there regardless.
It’s always been my secret dream to sit with you staring at the skies. The sort of thing that Father and Son would just do. It’s something I’ve never had, and in many ways it’s something you probably owe me.

Hi Keith
We met last night at Normanby Hall and for once the skies were very kind to us and there was plenty to see.
I am a complete novice and would welcome the opportunity to view your equipment and set up and also to talk astrophotograhy and general astromony questions.
Its nice to have someone local who we can meet and share information
Kindest Regards

Hi Keith!
Good to see you (again) today. My apologies for being such an idiot. I shpuld have remebered but I'm getting on a bit and when I see people sometimes unexpectedly in a different context it throws my brain into a spasm, and I just can't remember sometimes where I know them from.
You of course won't have experienced this yet young man!
Anyway, have your e mail now so will keep in touch.
Thanks for your very good advice and your assistance.
I haven't been much into astronomy. I was very much into the Saturn project and the moon landing era when I was a kid. Bet you were too.
But I will browse your site.
Talk to you soon.
Paul

hi keith, a bit of a question from the past, i am in the process of building a webpage dedicated to the scunthorpe groups. it started of as a 50's60's page but has since spread into the 70's,80's. i have a picture of 'redwood country', but can find very little info about them, i assume they were a scunthorpe or district group, perhaps you can enlighten me. the band members were,Marshall Lovell - Guitar John Manderson - Drums Keith Grice - Guitar Pete Leadenham - Bass. the webpage is at
http://sites.google.com/site/gourleyfamilysite/scunny-60s-groups
by the way, did you play in any other scunthorpe groups and have you any pics, i could put on the site.
a tennis racket, to practise guitar on, you lucky thing, i used to dream of a tennis racket to practise on.

Hello Keith
I work for BBC Look North in Hull and would like to know if you'd be available to be on our programme. We like the look of your observatory and wondered if you'd give us a guided tour and show us some of the images you've captured for our evening programme. Ideally we'd like to be with you tomorrow (25th August). Please let us know if this is possible.
Regards, Peter Dixon
